The legendary NBA player, Steve Nash, has decided to follow a new path in his career and currently is one of Mallorca’s owners, with the Spanish club playing in Spanish football’s second tier.

The former player talked to the Spanish newspaper Marca and referred to his decision to get involved in Mallorca, the Spanish players and whether his target is to create a basketball section in the Spanish club.

Here is what he said

about his decision to join Mallorca’s Board of Directors: “I trust Robert Sarver and other club owners. We are a group of people that we know each other and work well together. Above all, though, it is a very important club, with a history of 100 years. I love football and wanted to participate in a project in this sport and Mallorca is the right club in my opinion.”

regarding Pau Gasol and other Spanish athletes: “Pau Gasol and his brother are two phenomenal players. They already have a long history in the NBA and I love seeing them play. In general, all the Spanish players, who play in the NBA, are very talented. I also like Ricky Rubio. I have followed you all and have wonderful players.”

about creating a basketball section in the club: “I do not rule anything out, but for now we want to concentrate only on football. I love this sport and want to bet on this club in the league. This is just the beginning and we can not think of anything else. It’s not feasible now to want to add other projects.”

concerning the fact that he used to train more than anyone else:  “I think it’s much easier to sacrifice, have good attitude and always be motivated when things are going well. No matter the sport, whether football or basketball, you have to fight more when the results are not good, it’s what plays in life.”
