Mario Hezonja was born in Dubrovnik, played for Zagreb and Barcelona, however he is a Panathinaikos‘ fan.
The 21-year-old Croatian forward talked to the Greek channel, OTE TV, and mentioned he is a big fan of the Greens: “I like Greece very much and Panathinaikos is my favourite team. I love the club. I know many people in Greece, who are close to Panathinaikos’ administration. I don’t have a lot of time to watch the Euroleague, however I watch the highlights, because I like the club and its fans.”
Last year, Hezonja and Barcelona were eliminated by Olympiacos in Euroleague’s quarter-finals. According to the Croatian forward, “we didn’t play well in the second game and then Olympiacos decimated us. I don’t know what happened after the first game, however they have an amazing team. They had a lot of support from their fans and managed to eliminate us. They knew they had to win twice and that’s what they did.”
