A dream come true for one of Europe’s up and coming players as the New York Knicks signed Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas on Saturday.
Kuzminskas, 26, scored 12 points on 48.6-per cent shooting, and pulled in 3.4 rebounds in 23 games for Malaga last season. The player’s option if he had stayed in Europe was to play for Dogus Darussafaka of coach David Blatt, but the Knicks made him an offer on the right timing and he is making the jump to the States.
The Knicks also completed their deal with their last year draft pick, Spanish big man Willy Hernangomez.
Kuzminskas tweeted his first statement as Knicks member.
