Giannis Antetokounmpo has one All-Star caliber performance after the other but you can surely argue that his game still isn’t treated as he deserves.
At least that’s what Milwaukee Bucks journalists thought of when they asked head coach Jason Kidd why the Greek point-forward isn’t getting more recognition around the league.
Kidd’s answer? “It’s hard to pronounce”, in regards to Giannis’ surname. No wonder “Antetokounmpo” is avoided and the player’s first name is a much more preferable option by sportscasters and commentators that still struggle to perfectly pronounce the player’s name after three years.
Remember… even Barack Obama had the kind of difficulties Kidd mentioned.
Kidd was asked why Antetokounmpo is not getting more recognition around the league. “It’s hard to pronounce,” Kidd said.
