“As pros, we know what’s the deal. But yeah, this time felt a little different,” Rubio said to AP. “It’s all rumors. Until it doesn’t go down, you don’t believe it.”
“You’re expected to be professional,” Wolves president and coach Tom Thibodeau said from his side. “Everyone has a job to do. Come in, do your job. You can’t get lost in the other stuff. That’s what the expectations are.”
However, considering the fact that the talks between the Knicks and the Wolves for a trade involving Rubio were more than advanced, the Spaniard expected some explanations on the matter by the team management.
“We’re professionals, but we’re human beings, too,” Rubio said. “We have feelings. But I know this is a business and it has to be like that.”
The bottom line for the near future in simple. “I believe this team can make the playoffs and we can make a push,” Rubio said. “We’ve been working hard all year long. We didn’t start the season the way we wanted, but we’ve been making a run lately and we just have to keep pushing.”
