The Croatian guard who was acquired from Brooklyn on Feb. 22 had 27 points off the bench in leading the Washington Wizards to a 105-96 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, snapping an eight-game losing streak to their Eastern Conference rival in the process. Polish center Marcin Gortat added 12 points and 8 rebounds and Czech Tomas Satoranski had one pointe, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Lithuanian big man Jonas Valanciunas had 7 points and 11 rebounds for Toronto and Austrian Jakob Poeltl added 2 points and 2 rebounds.
Latvian Kristaps Porzingis looked fine there Wednesday night, scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds to lead New York to a 101-90 victory over the Orlando Magic. Lithuanian Mindaugas Kuzminskas added 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. French Evan Fournier finished with 22 points to lead five players in double figures for Orlando, Montenegrin Nikola Vucevic had a double double (14 p. 10 r.) and Croatian Mario Hezonja added 2 points.
In the duel of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic, the Serb stole the show. With his second triple-double in two nights, Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to a 110-98 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.The 22-year-old center finished with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists for his fourth career triple-double — all in his last 13 games. Italian Danilo Gallinari scored 22 points for Denver and Spaniard Juancho Hernangomez had 8 points. The Bucks also got 15 points and nine rebounds from the Greek Freak, while Bosnian Mirza Teletovic added one rebound.
