The EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year is a free agent, the four year deal he signed back in 2013 with Baskonia expired and the Spurs are waiting for him.
The 28 years old forward is at the right age, he played his best basketball yet and the numbers don’t represent what he was doing on the court. Hanga averaged 10.5 ppg and 4.4 rpg, while also emerging as the leader of Baskonia. Despite missing the chance to play in one more EuroLeague Final Four, he still had a more than solid season.
It’s not a secret that the Spurs are closely monitoring him, specially the last two seasons and the time for him to play in the NBA has come, according to sources close to the situation.
