According to Adrian Wojnarowski, several teams have expressed interest in the Latvian player, while ESPN’s Ian Begley mentions that Jackson has not been in touch with Porzingis at all since he skipped his exit interview at the end of the season.
Porzingis’ brother, Janis, is “frustrated” by the lack of communication between the two sides. “Despite how the Knicks are treating their players, Kris wants to stay in New York. He loves the city and he loves the fans and he wants to win with this team,” Janis Porzingis told ESPN. “If he’s going to be traded, he’s going to play out his contact and decide his future on his own.”
The news come just two days before the NBA draft, in which the New York Knicks hold the eighth pick in the first round. Wojnarowski also reports the Knicks side met with Arizona forward Lauri Markkanen on Monday, who could make it as their pick.
