French combo guard Frank Ntilikina becomes the second European player after Lauri Markkanen to be selected in the NBA Draft after the New York Knicks acquired him with the eighth pick.
Ntilikina, 18, is currently playing in Strasbourg and will actually be travelling back to France right after the Draft in order to play Game 5 of the French League Finals vs Elan Chalon.
As he said following his selection, “I have to go back and definitely try to get the championship. It looks crazy but that’s why we play for”.
Ntilikina has been considered as an excellent two-way prospect who can potentially become an excellent “3 and D” player thanks to his incredible wingspan (7′ 1”) and defensive perception plus his shooting efficiency from the perimeter.
