Following the best season of his career so far, Rudy Gobert was rewarded for making all sorts of stops against his opponents by being almost unanimously (97 of 100) voted to the 2016/2018 NBA All-Defensive First Team
The French center of the Utah Jazz notched 8.9 defensive rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 0.6 steals per game, being a fierce rim protector and agile defender far beyond what numbers show.
That’s also the case with Giannis Antetokounmpo who received seven votes for the All-Defensive First Team and 21 for the Second where he ultimately landed. The “Greek Freak” finished the season with the Bucks averaging 8.8 defensive rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.6 steals per game.
