Milos Teodosic has signed a two-year, 12.3 million deal with the L.A. Clippers. The deal has been reported to include a player option for the second season that allows the Serbian guard to opt out and make himself eligible to other teams as a free agent.
However there’s an extra term in the paper that also grants his team the right to waive Teodosic, if he chooses to pick the second season option.
As ESPN reports, there’s a mutually agreeed condition in the deal that allows the Clippers to part ways with the player. If Teodosic chooses to opt in for 2018/2019 then the Clippers can waive him by paying him a $2 million refund sum (which is also deducted from their cap space).
