Over the past 24-hours, and during the summer there had been many rumors about Carmelo Anthony joining another team, getting traded to another organization. Teams like the Thunder, the Rockets, the Cavaliers and the Blazers were some potential spots for the 33-year old star, but Carmelo Anthony was just traded to Oklahoma.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Enes Kanter, Doug Mcdermott and a draft pick for Carmelo Anthony.

Moreover, the Thunder will incur an additional $12.4M in luxury tax. OKC now will have a tax bill of $27.8M. The 33-year old star will try to compete for his first NBA championship with the Thunder.

Russell Westbrook and Paul George played an immense part in getting Anthony to waive no-trade for OKC, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Carmelo Anthony is also expected to join the Thunder for the start of the training camp on Tuesday.
