During the Media Day of the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo was also asked about the matter of his knee injury that prevented him from joining the Greek national team in the EuroBasket.
“I’m getting better day by day. My knee is a lot better,” said the Bucks point-forward. “The decision was tough. Really hard. You have a whole country behind you that expects you to play. It was one of the toughest decisions I’ever made as an athlete. But I think it was a better thing for me and my family. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to play. I could not play. Thank God, there are a lot of people that support me. Lots of fans, Milwaukee fans in social media. I want to thank them for doing that. That’s pretty much it.”
The 2017 All-Star already highly versatile so when it comes to offseason improvement, he didn’t focus just on one area of the game, but to everything his duties on the floor encompass.
“The goal was just to improve overall,” Giannis said. “Be a better basketball player. Last year I could see the court better because I paid more attention. The most important thing is to be a better player. I changed my diet. And I’m trying to be strong in the weight room too.”
