Lauri Markkanen was clearly in a good mood during the Chicago Bulls media day and had quite a few interesting things to say in the process.
According to Cody Westerlund, the Finnish star stated: ” “Of course I want to start, but it’s not a deal-breaker for me.”
Chicago Bulls coach, Fred Hoiberg indicated that besides the center position, everything else is up for grabs. The 19-year old rookie will have to battle with Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis for minutes at the power forward spot.
While it might be tough for Markkanen to get minutes at first, the Bulls are clearly in “tank mode” and will look to develop their first-round pick as the season progresses.
Nikola Mirotic may be the clear favorite to start at the four but Markkanen should see his minutes increase during the second half of the season.
