During his rookie season, Dario Saric “shocked” the basketball world with his versatility and basketball fundementals. He won rookie of the month honors in February and March while scoring in double-figures for 22 straight games.
This year, Saric will have to battle for minutes in a crowded frontcourt and will most likely start the season coming off the bench.
“Everybody wants to start, you know but I don’t have a problem coming from the bench.”, he said
“Sometimes it’s like that. Maybe I will have more space for me from the second unit. I will try to fight 100 percent. That’s in my blood.” he continued.
“I had a really good first season, but I will try to do that in the second season, too.”, he added.
Saric, might not start games but he understands that it’s more important to be on the floor in the fourth quarter and when asked about his preferred position he said: “Whatever “position coach puts me in I will play.”
While his minutes might see a slight decrease, leading the second unit can be an enjoyable role for the Croatian international, especially if he gets the offensive touches he wants.
