Dennis Schroder was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge Thursday morning in a suburb of Atlanta, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The 24-year-old German guard of the Atlanta Hawks was released from custody on bail Wojnarowski also reports.
The Hawks released an official statement on the matter that goes as follows:
“We are aware of an incident involving Dennis Schröder earlier this morning. We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
Last season, Schroder averaged 17.9 points plus 6.3 assists per game.
