Parker could return in December

During the NBA playoffs, last season, Tony Parker went down with a torn quadriceps tendon and many assumed that the earliest he could return to the court was the beginning of 2018.

Parker is on pace to beat that timeline and return before the end of the calendar year and Gregg Popovich seems quite optimistic.

“I think he’s going to be ahead of schedule. I kept thinking he might be ready in January or something. He might be ready in December. He’s come along really well.”, he said.

TP9 has not taken contact just yet but has been cleared to do light weight work as well as some running and shooting.

Parker, 35 said that he is targeting a November return but Coach Pop does not want him to get ahead of himself as the Spurs organization is more focused on the big picture.

Pop also praised his work ethic by saying: “He worked really hard over the summer. He’s never worked this hard in the weight room since he’s been here. We’ve always pushed him to some degree, but this year he’s just been a monster in there.”
