Via Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson, the Chicago Bulls announced that Nikola Mirotic is “anticipated” to stay out for 4-6 weeks, following yesterday’s physical altercation with Bobby Portis.
The Bulls also announced that Portis was suspended for eight games for punching his teammate. “Bobby Portis is not a bad person. He’s a good kid but he made a mistake,” said John Paxson.
Mirotic had to be transferred to the hospital after getting punched by Portis in Tuesday’s (17/10) practice. The examinations revealed that he broke two facial bones, suffered maxillary fractures and a concussion.
The 26-year-old Spanish forward will most likely need surgery.
