Despite Dennis Schroder’s impressive performance, the Boston Celtics managed to escape Atlanta with the win, 110-107.
The Celtics are now 9-2 and have won 9 straight after dropping the first two games of the season.
With the teams tied at the half (54-54), Boston managed to pull away by 7 heading into the fourth.
The Celtics maintained the lead but the Hawks wouldn’t go away. With 24 seconds left and the scoreboard at 107-105, Kyrie Irving hit a clutch shot to give his team a four-point lead the pretty much decided the game.
Kyrie scored 34, while Al Horford just missed a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Theis had 3 points, 2 boards and 2 assists in a win.
For the losing side, Dennis Schroder was superb once again but his 23 points weren’t enough.
