NBA Euro-watch: The Markkanen show in New York

Lauri Markkanen put on a show for basketball fans in one of the world’s biggest sport stages. The Finnish rookie had a career-high 33 points, including 8 three-pointers to go along with 10 boards, an assist, 2 steals and a block.

The game was decided in double overtime with Lauri Markkanen and Kristaps Porzingis (24 p. 4 r.) going back and fourth down the stretch but the Bulls prevailed in the end, 122-119.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 26 points leading the Bucks to a  110-103 win over the Orlando Magic.

For the losing side, Even Fournier had 21 points while Mario Hezonja continued his strong performances with 14 off the bench.

The Grizzlies managed to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 105-102 behind a big performance by Marc Gasol. The Spanish star came up 3 assists shy of a triple-double finishing with 21 points, 10 boards and 7 assists and sealed the game with a steal on Cousins

Finally, Dennis Schroder led the Hawks to a big road win in Denver with a double-double, 19 points and 10 assists.

Nikola Jokic had an off shooting night but still finished with 9 points, 12 boards, and 7 assists.
