The Knicks were leading 96-92 after Porzingis made 1/2 free throws with 67 seconds left, but ended up losing to the Hawks by three (99-96).
The Latvian All-Star finished the game with 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals and five blocks but it was not enough. Turk Enes Kanter added 10 points and 12 rebounds. For the winning side German point guard Dennis Schroder had 10 points, six assists and five rebounds, Greek-American Tyler Dorsey added seven points and Italian sharpshooter Marco Belinelli scored eight.
In Brooklyn, the Bucks beat the Nets 109-94, however, the ankle injury of Giannis Antetokounmpo overshadowed everything else. The Greek Freak finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Matthew Dellavedova also suffered an ankle injury.
In Boston, the Celtics prevailed over Portland by one point (97-96) with Al Horford providing the winning basket (Theis 6 p. 8 r., Yabusele 4 p. 1 as. – Nurkic 14 p. 8 r.). The Raptors got an easy 101-86 win over Memphis despite a 20 points game by Marc Gasol (Valanciunas 12 p. 9 r., Ibaka 7 p. 5 r. Poeltle 9 p. 5 r.)
The Los Angeles Lakers sent the Oklahoma City Thunder to their fourth straight loss, 108-104 (Abrines 3p.), and French star Nicolas Batum scored 22 points and the Charlotte Hornets rallied from a 21-point second-half deficit to beat the Phoenix Suns 115-110. Croatian Dragan Bender scored 18 points for the losing side.
