A few days ago, Isaiah Thomas said that he’s “tired of getting traded” and that he “likes it here”. Meaning, he enjoys Cleveland and the Cavaliers.
But the cold reality of the NBA is that almost anyone is eligible for trade and at any time. And Thomas realized it for the second time in six months, following the decision of the Boston Celtics to trade him back in August.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Thomas will be sent to the L.A. Lakers along with Channing Frye plus the Cavs‘ 2018 first-round pick (which isn’t the Brooklyn Nets pick), in exchange for Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson.
With this move, the Lakers can now get two maximum salary contracts during the 2018 free agency.
