Goran Dragic, the Eurobasket MVP and gold medal winner as well an NBA All-Star and leader of the Miami Heat, was voted as the winner of the 2017 Euroscar award.
The award is given by the Italian newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport” every year since 1979 to the best European basketball player, after a vote between more than 200 players, coaches, general managers and select media. Eurohoops had the honor to be part of the voting together with 13 well-respected journalists from the old continent.
Legends like Drazen Petrovic, Arvydas Sabonis, Nick Galis, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker have been past recipients of this award.
Dragic and his teammate in the Slovenian national team, teen-wonder Luka Doncic, got the two first places, followed by Latvian Kristaps Porzingis. Spanish star Alba Torrens won the women’s vote.
