With the completion of 2017-2018, Atlanta Hawks guard and former EuroLeague star Malcolm Delaney becomes a free agent. His priority? To stay in the league and also try to be in a situation where he’ll receive an expanded, upgraded role within his team.
“I’ve proven myself here. Even if it’s not here, somebody else might want me. Maybe to play a bigger role,” Delaney told Eurohoops. “I want to stay in here. I love Atlanta. The city, not just the basketball team. I like living in Atlanta. I like what they (Hawks) are trying to do here for the next couple of years. If I could I would stay in Atlanta. My priority is definitely the NBA. I’m not even thinking about Europe.”
“Next year I definitely want a bigger opportunity. To be able to play more of my game. To do more for a team. Because I’m definitely capable of helping a team win, whether it’s a contender or a young team. My priority in the summer is to be somewhere where I can get a bigger role. Whether it’s here or anywhere else,” Delaney added.
