Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic spoke in favor of the protests to save the Belgrade Hippodrome via a video message on Twitter.
The contract between the municipality of Belgrade and the management of the century-old Hippodrome is expiring this summer and there are plans to use the land for other purposes. Jokic wouldn’t like to see that.
In his video message, Jokic, a well-known avid fan of horses and horse racing, talked about how the Hippodrome is one of the oldest sports buildings in Serbia and why it is the center of horseriding in the country.
“I don’t know if you know that Belgrade Hippodrome is the oldest sports building in the country, let’s try to save that,” Jokic said.
