The Houston Rockets look pretty much unbeatable right now since they have won their last 17 (!) games. A rather impressive streak that has placed them at the top spot in the Western Conference.
Swiss center Clint Capela has been heavily contributing to his team’s victories, enjoying an outstanding season (14.3 points, 11.3 rebounds per game). Numbers are fine and cute, but the 23-year-old big guy remains focused on the greater picture, as he told Eurohoops.
You’re having a great season so far and you are the favorite for winning MIP (Most Improved Player). Describe what it’s like playing with guys like Chris Paul and James Harden.
– “They’re great, just consistent every single game. They’ve been in the NBA for a while and they make our job easier.”
You’re eying first place at the moment but we all know you’re eyeing the bigger picture. Considering that Golden State is not that strong at the center position, do you feel like you can be that X-factor to put this team over the top?
– “I could be that piece. Whenever that moment comes I’m just going to have to prove it. No, we just need to go get it. Be consistent every night, do our jobs and whenever the time comes, prove it.”
Houston has won two out of the three meetings against the Warriors this season but the greater question remains. Can anyone beat them in a 7-game series?
