There’s no question that Nikola Jokic is one of the best centers in the NBA. A few weeks back, Denver’s head coach Mike Malone praised him and said that he should be in the MVP discussion. A few days ago he benched him for the fourth quarter and stated that he needs to put effort while playing.
His teammate Paul Millsap echoed that the 23-year old needs to be more aggressive: “He’s such a humble guy, that sometimes he looks for me to do things. And it’s him. He’s our team. He makes a lot of things go for us…I’m here to help him and back him in any way possible.”
As Gina Mizell of Denver’s Post reports, Millsap also commented on the chemistry issues: “We worked through that (at the beginning of the season) and started playing good basketball. Hopefully, sooner than later, we’ll play that same brand of basketball that we were playing and get back to being us.”
Jokic is currently averaging 17.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and six assists per game, leading his team to a 35-30 record. The question is whether the Denver Nuggets can make the play-offs.
