German center Daniel Theis will have to undergo a season-ending surgery after suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.
The Boston Celtics big sustained the injury after a collision with Cory Joseph in Sunday’s (11/3) defeat of the Celtics to the Indiana Pacers. There were only 18 seconds remaining when he hurt his knee.
Theis has been averaging 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over 14.8 minutes per game in his rookie season in the NBA.
