After his fight in a shopping center parking lot, that led to arrest back in September with three other men, Dennis Schröder could face felony charges.
As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reported, the police obtained a video that allegedly shows “Schroder ‘initiate contact’ with the victim” and all four people who were arrested “struck the victim with their hands and feet.”
The victim, however, sustained serious injuries in the alleged altercation, suffering a torn meniscus and a torn ACL, that will eventually require major surgeries. “These injuries require multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. As such, this case should be handled by the District Attorney’s Office,” DeKalb Assistant Solicitor-General Tommy McNulty wrote to DeKalb District Attorney Sherry Boston.
If charged or convicted of the felony, the Atlanta Hawks‘ point guard could face up to 20 years in prison. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks‘ General Manager had said the following back in October: “That behavior is unacceptable, and will not be tolerated by the Hawks organization.”
