Ben Simmons became the fifth rookie in NBA history to notch a triple-double in the playoffs, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106 – 102 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the series and the 3-1.
Simmons had 17 points, 13 rebounds plus 10 assists, while JJ Redick posted a team-high 24 points along with a key basket for the 104 – 101. Five of his teammates scored in double figures, including all Europeans that checked in.
Dario Saric finished with 11 points plus eight rebounds, Ersan Ilyasova dropped 10 points as many as Marco Belinelli. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot didn’t register any minutes.
The Heat were overpowered 27 – 19 in the fourth period and didn’t endure, despite Goran Dragic’s 20 points, four steals, three assists.
