San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina is among the candidates that will be interviewed for the vacant head coach position in the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Italian coach is the second former EuroLeague coach (and champion) considered by the Bucks after David Blatt, who’s currently at the helm of Turkish side Darussafaka Istanbul.
Messina has won the EuroLeague four times, twice with Virtus Bologna (1998, 2001) and also two times with CSKA Moscow (2006, 2008).
The Milwaukee Bucks will interview San Antonio assistant Ettore Messina, former Charlotte coach Steve Clifford and former New Orleans coach Monty Williams in next several days, league sources tell ESPN. Bucks may meet with as many as 10 candidates in first round of interviews.
