Alessandro Gentile confirmed the reports saying that he will be in the roster of the Houston Rockets during the upcoming NBA Summer League.
“Houston expressed interest in me and invited me to the Summer League. We have always been in touch during these years. So I’llgo there and I’ll enjoy the whole thing,” Gentile said in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, per Planeta Basket.
The Rockets have owned the Italian swingman’s rights since 2014. Gentile has previously mentioned that he was close to joining Houston in summer 2016 but the Rockets changed their mind.
The 25-year-old player also said that he doesn’t rule out returning to Olimpia Milano. Gentile was the captain of the team back in 2015-2016 before being demoted and then given on loan by the club.
“Why not? Milan can offer great opportunities with a well-organized company. It does not depend on me. In any case, it is not something that I exclude a priori. I had a beautiful cycle with Milano, despite a lot of criticism. However, the results are clear. I found myself very well with Armani. Now, there’s a new cycle: I’m a professional player and I put personal feelings aside. As I had not done before.”
