After Kevin Love, DeMar DeRozan and other athletes from all over the world expressed their battle with depression and how they deal with it, the NBA’s players association decided to launch a mental health and wellness for all the players in the NBA.
As Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported, former NBA veteran Keyon Dooling will be serving as a director. The 38-year old played for seven NBA teams, and now will be in charge of the mental health and wellness program.
Back in March, the 29-year old forward of the Cleveland Cavaliers had discussed a panic attack he experienced in a game against the Atlanta Hawks, stating that everyone “walks around with struggles”.
DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors had also talked about his battle with depression, and it seems that the NBPA is doing everything it can to help every player in the world’s greatest and most stressful competition.
The National Basketball Players Association has launched a mental health and wellness program for all players, with former NBA veteran Keyon Dooling serving as director.
