Utah Jazz guard Ricky Rubio believes that his team has the capacity and potential to reach the NBA Finals in the near future.
“We are young, we have a solid future and a team, and I feel that we still have to do something big. I see myself playing the NBA finals with the Jazz,” Rubio said per Catalan Esports.
By averaging 14 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7 assists per game in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, Rubio was instrumental in helping the Jazz get past the Oklahoma City Thunder and make the semifinals for the second year in a row. The 27-year-old Spanish guard, however, didn’t play in the semis vs. the Houston Rockets due to a hamstring strain he suffered in Game 6 vs. the Thunder.
Rubio completed his debut season with the Jazz and seventh overall in the NBA with a career-high average of 13.1 points, plus 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.
