The Houston Rockets made one step forward in the playoffs this season in comparison with the previous year but didn’t manage to overcome the almighty Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Their offseason plan? To sign a superstar that will give an extra boost to their firepower.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (per Sagar Trika), the Rockets will be “aggressive in trying to acquire” Paul George during free agency. George has one year remaining in his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder but can opt out to become an unrestricted free agent up for grabs. And the Rockets are expected to strike, as Wojnarowski reports.
George was traded to Thunder last summer by the Indiana Pacers that got Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis in return. He averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the season while the Thunder were eliminated 4-2 by the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs.
