Two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash has no doubts in his mind regarding the talent and capabilities of potential No. 1 pick in the 2018 Draft Luka Doncic.
“I think Luka is a dream prospect,” Nash said to Yahoo Sports.
Nash proceeded to praise the characteristics of the 19-year-old Real Madrid player. “Big and mobile enough in the modern game and can guard multiple positions. He has a skillset, a winning mentality, and leadership qualities,” the eight-time All-Star said on Doncic.
In the same story of Yahoo Sports, Doncic was asked about the possible comparisons between him and Nash. “I see that from myself, to be like Steve Nash. But man, to be like Steve Nash I need to work so much. I like to see my teammates play better. I like to elevate them, and I know Steve Nash did that. It’s different to compare me to an NBA player like him because that is such a great, great level.”
On Sunday (17/6), Doncic scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Real Madrid beat Baskonia in Game 3 of the ACB Finals and clinch a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Real will win the Spanish League title with a victory in Game 4, Tuesday (19/6). If the series ends in that game, then Doncic will also be able to travel to Brooklyn, New York in order to attend the Draft ceremony.
