Dirk Nowitzki is about to finalize a $5M deal with the Dallas Mavericks that will keep him with the team for the 20th (!) consecutive season, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
Earlier this summer, Dallas declined Nowitzki’s contract option for 2018-2019 in order to help the team become more flexible with their salary cap space. It was expected that Dirk would re-sign a new contract with the Mavericks, something that is expected to be finalized soon.
In the next season, Nowitzki will also be a teammate of reigning EuroLeague MVP Luka Doncic who has already expressed his excitement ahead of playing alongside the legendary German forward.
Dirk is about to embark on his 20th season with the Mavericks, the team he led to the 2011 championship, winning Finals MVP honors in the process.
