After 23 years of playing basketball, Manu Ginobili might be at the final crossroad. The 41-year-old Spurs guard has been thinking about retiring, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Although Ginobili has been working out regularly he hasn’t made a decision for the upcoming season and will meet with coach Gregg Popovich in order to discuss his future. He has one year worth $2.5 million left in his contract.
The Argentinian averaged 9.8 points in 20 minutes of play with the Spurs last season.
The future Hall of Famer joined the Spurs back in 2002 as a rookie and has stayed for 16 years winning four NBA championships. He is one of the best international players in basketball history winning an Olympic gold medal with the Argentinan national team, a Euroleague MVP and being an NBA All-Star twice.
