Lebron James voiced his approval of the recent Nike ad campaign featuring NFL star Colin Kaepernick.
James said that he stands “… for anybody who believes in change,” before adding “I stand with Nike, all day, every day,” James said during his speech after receiving an award for his style and philanthropy during the Harlem’s Fashion Row, per Associated Press.
Kaepernick tweeted the first image of Nike’s ad campaign Monday (3/9). It’s a picture of him with the caption “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything,” a clear reference to his activism, especially regarding social issues such as racial injustice and police brutality. Since 2016, Kaepernick has been without a team after opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
Lebron is also among the athletes selected for Nike’s “Just Do it”30th-anniversary marketing campaign.
