Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed the reports saying that rookie Luka Doncic may be used in the power forward position in the upcoming season.
While Doncic was projected to be the Dennis Smith’s backcourt mate, Carlilse’s plans put the Slovenian player as either a “3” or a “4” in the lineup of the Mavericks, since Wesley Matthews will be used as a “2”, per Dwain Price.
With Real Madrid spent a no small amount of games as a small forward but rarely played in the power forward position.
Doncic, the reigning EuroLeague season and Final Four MVP, plus ACB MVP, should debut with the Mavericks in the preseason game against Chinese club Beijing Ducks, Saturday.
