“Doncic? Yes, I think he will be a star, he has all the numbers and now he has to prove it year after year for a while”, said Gasol who believes in the young star. “Doncic has all the conditions to be a difference maker, a star and mark a basketball era”.
Pau Gasol once more spoke about his wish to play for Spain in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. “However, for now, I have to be focused on the season and as I have done in recent years, we will decide in the summer according to my physical condition”, said the San Antonio Spurs big man.
“When you have traveled so many kilometers you have to be smart because we all have an expiration date”, he joked about his age. “I want to take advantage of my virtues, I see my 38 years of age as a great advantage”.
As for the decision to retire, Gasol left everything open: “I do not know if I will go back to Spain to play in Europe with FC Barcelona. I want to take advantage of every season I play, but it is clear that a time will come when I will have to decide. At the moment I have two years left in my contract and my dream is to fulfill them. It would not be bad to say goodbye in the 2020 Olympic Games with another medal”.
