The Memphis Grizzlies are currently second in the West with a solid 11-5 record, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley are among the standouts of the league, however this may not mean much in the long run.
Marc Gasol spoke to the Spanish radio show “El Larguero” after the win of Memphis over Dallas and he admitted that his future with the team remains unclear, despite the fact that he has a player option in his contract for the 2019-20 season.
“They can always trade you, they always look to the future and have to make decisions for the next three, four or five years”, said Gasol who admitted that he ready for every possibility, even if he has a special bond with Memphis: “Such a decision by the management will have an impact on me, but at the end, it’s business. It is clear that I have an emotional connection with the city and, even if my relationship with the team changes, it would remain the same with the city. I arrived here when I was 16 and now I am 33. My son was born here. This will never change “.
Gasol also spoke about Luka Doncic. “He is playing very well, he is very comfortable, reading very well the spaces”, said Marc Gasol about the former Real Madrid player. “The people here did not know him that much, but I see him already being very comfortable, with a lot of confidence in his shot as well and I’m very happy for him”.
