Luka Doncic schools Kyrie Irving, scores all-time NBA record

Luka Doncic surpassed the 10-point mark for the 18th consecutive time since he began his NBA career on Saturday night. No other teenager in NBA history started his career with 18 straight double-figure matches. The previous record was held by Kevin Durant, who got 17 two-figure point games in the beginning of his career.

It wasn’t only the new record in the Dallas Maverickswin over the Boston Celtics. The 19-year-old Slovenian started at point guard with Dennis Smith Jr. (wrist) out and didn’t face any kind of problem in his adjusted position. He did score 15 points and dish eight assists in 31 minutes.

He ran the offense so effectively that Celtics’ players tried to throw him off his game in unsportsmanlike fashion. In one occasion, Jaylen Brown dropped him with a forearm to his chest and was charged with a technical. The two players had to be separated.

Take a look at his highlights from last night’s game. You might want to rewind and re-watch one play in particular, in which he schooled Kyrie Irving and sank a buzzer-beater.
