It was one of those nights for Kevin Durant, his second one as a Golden State Warriors’ player. The 2018-19 season is his third at his second NBA team and Thursday’s game against the Toronto Raptors was the second one, in which he scored at least 50 points. The weird part of all above is that the Warriors lost both times he had a 50-point performance.
Last February he poured 50 points in the Warriors’ 123-117 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. The 30-year-old forward has a total of six 50-point games in his NBA career. Before he joined the Warriors he didn’t have a problem leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to victory in his 50-point matches, as his former team won all four of those games.
On Thursday he also became the first NBA player in 11 years to scorer at least 44 points in three straight outings. Kobe Bryant was the last one during March of 2007. Also, Durant surpassed the 40-point mark in three consecutive games for the first time in his career.
