A few days after criticizing the referees’ decisions during the Utah Jazz’s match with the Miami Heat, Rudy Gobert was back at it, this time expressing his feelings during the game itself. He was fined by the NBA, but again disagreed with two harsh fouls called on him and got tossed only three minutes in the home match with the Houston Rockets.
He was called for a foul on the opening tip and picked up his second 9:13 to go in the first quarter. The 26-year-old French center reacted knocking some stuff off the scorer’s table when he checked out of the game. It was no surprise that the referees decided to eject him.
The Jazz got the “W” without him, while he took out his frustration in the Vivint Smart Home Arena gym. After the game he apologized: “I’ve got to be smarter. It didn’t cost the team tonight, but it can cost the team. Losing me in the first quarter is not the smartest thing to do”.
