Sacramento Kings forward Nemanja Bjelica talked about his stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves, saying that he “sometimes felt bad” because he wasn’t receiving the opportunities he wanted in the games.
“Sometimes, because I’m a human being, I felt sometimes bad because I didn’t get enough chance,” Bjelica said in an interview with Twin Cities. “Even if I got a chance, I would always go back to the bench. But I accepted that and I just try to be a great teammate. I want people to remember me like a great teammate, not like, ‘He was a good player.”
Bjelica has increased his production rates this season with the Kings, averaging 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds over 24 minutes per game. He had 6.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 20.5 minutes in 2017-2018.
“Everything is about opportunity in this league. You need to be ready. We have a great coach (in Sacramento’s Dave Joerger) who knows how to use everybody. … I’m happy here. It’s a new page of my NBA career.”
