The Sacramento Kings were one of the teams which skipped Luka Doncic in the 2018 NBA Draft believing Marvin Bagley is a better fit for them. The Kings GM Vlade Divac doesn’t seem to regret his choice but he did note that Doncic was more prepared than any other player in his class and it definitely shows this season with Dallas: “Well, you know, Luka is a great talent and he is obviously showing it this year. He was more ready than any other kid in this class because he played abroad in Europe for a few years and it’s a great fit for Dallas.”
A year earlier (2017 NBA Draft), the Kings didn’t let Bogdan Bogdanovic pass by and that seems to be paying out for them. Divac believes it’s because Bogdanovic adapted completely to the NBA playstyle: “He feels more comfortable. Being a rookie last year he learned what NBA is all about so he feels much more comfortable in the games.”
