Potential Smith Jr. trade can team up Doncic with Vucevic or Fournier

The speculation on Dennis Smith Jr.’s future and his potential trade generates various scenarios about the form the roster of the Dallas Mavericks might take. Nobody can be sure how a trade will play out and what any team will be willing to give up for 21-year-old Smith Jr, but Mavs Insider Mike Fisher reported that the Texans have begun conversations with the Orlando Magic, which he believes are the best fit and explained why mentioning that Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier are among the players the Mavericks could be interested in.

“The “big deal”? While there can be other suitors, we’ve speculated that the best fit involves the Orlando Magic — and that there are a number of fits there. There is no chemistry problem in the locker room or on the floor involving Dennis and Doncic, but if Dennis must go, surely Luka’s agent Bill Duffy will get involved, hoping to help guide a client like Aaron Gordon from Orlando to Dallas. Orlando center Nikola Vucevic is also a Duffy client. Meanwhile, there are Mavs people who think very highly of Orlando’s Evan Fournier, and I’m told names like that make more sense to the Mavs than does rookie center Mo Bamba”.

According to his latest report on the Mavericks, the organization is maybe within 24 hours of a trade. In this case, the scenarios will soon be remote. For now, we will have to wait and see if Luka Doncic will continue his remarkable 2018-19 Regular Season with new European teammates.
