Anthony Davis has no intention to sign a contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans and wishes to be traded. Rich Paul told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that his client prefers to be traded to a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for the NBA championship.
Teams are now expected to line up before the trade deadline hoping to reach a deal with the Pelicans for the 25-year-old American forward/center. Davis was able to sign a five-year, 240 million dollars contract extension this summer, but won’t be eligible for the supermax contract if he indeed moves on.
The Chicago native was the top pick of the 2012 Draft and immediately took on franchise player status with New Orleans. He since played in 423 NBA games, before deciding a trade is the best solution for him and the organization.
