Davis Bertans wanted to participate in the NBA Three-Point contest of this year’s All Star Game, but didn’t fit in NBA’s plans per Jabari Young of The Athletic. The San Antonio Spurs insider reckoned that the League apparently believed the 26-year-old Latvian forward doesn’t attempt enough threes to be considered for the contest.
Various reports include Seth Curry, Dirk Nowitzki, Damian Lillard, Steph Curry and Buddy Hield in the Three-Point field. However, Bertans has tried his luck beyond the arc more times than Seth Curry and 40-year-old Nowitzki, who missed most of the first part of the Regular Season due to injury.
Bertans 49.2% from three-point range during the 2018-19 campaign not only tops the averages of the five players reportedly in the contest, but is among the most accurate efforts this year in the NBA.
Nevertheless, the new Three-Point king will be crowned at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte a day before the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, on February 16th.
